Quem Somos

O Núcleo de Relações Internacionais (NRI) da Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP) foi criado como um órgão representativo da Diretoria da Faculdade, em março de 2010, pelo Profº. Dr. Ernani Geraldo Rolim, através da Resolução Congregação nº. 05/2010 e Portaria G.D. nº. 023/2010, com os objetivos de formular política de atuação internacional da FCMSCSP, de promover a dinamização e expansão da atuação internacional da instituição e de assessorar o Diretor em assuntos de sua competência, na área de cooperação internacional.

O NRI não possui uma estrutura formal, mas conta atualmente com uma coordenadora, uma vice-coordenadora e um secretário (partilhado com outras comissões da FCMSCSP), os quais são responsáveis por desenvolver o conjunto de atividades envolvidas no intercâmbio de alunos, apoiar iniciativas discentes de intercâmbios internacionais, especialmente as relacionadas pelo Centro Acadêmico, organizar eventos com participação de professores e pesquisadores estrangeiros e organizam a recepção e atividades para alunos estrangeiros.

 

 

  • Atuar na consolidação de uma cultura internacionalista na FCMSCSP, a fim de posicionar a instituição entre as universidades de âmbito mundial.
  • Intermediar o estabelecimento de convênios de cooperação entre a FCMSCSP e outras universidades, acompanhar o intercâmbio de nossa comunidade acadêmica e inserir a nossa Universidadeem redes e grupos de cooperação universitária internacional.
  • Divulgar as oportunidades no exterior, como bolsas  de estudos, cursos, estágios, congressos, seminários, programas de cooperação internacional etc.
  • Disponibilizar informações para estudantes, pesquisadores e residentes estrangeiros interessados em realizar um período deintercâmbio na FCMSCSP.
  • Atuar no acompanhamento da formalização de candidaturas aos programas de intercâmbio acadêmico provenientes dos convêniosfirmados entre a FCMSCSP e outras universidades do exterior.
  • Orientar os estudantes em relação a vistos, estadia, custos, dentre outros, além de auxiliar na recepção de estudantes e visitantes estrangeiros.
  • Apoiar a realização de eventos internacionais na FCMSCSP e a participação em atividades fora do país.

Núcleo de Relações Internacionais (NRI) da Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo tem promovido constantemente a qualidade e a quantidade das  experiências de intercâmbio. Sua atuação tem sido alvo de reconhecimento tanto no âmbito interno quanto externamente à instituição.

Embora a criação do NRI tenha ocorrido formalmente  em 2010, desde 2008 a diretoria da Faculdade já vinha oferecendo bolsas, além de cartas de recomendação e suporte interno aos alunos que procuraram intercâmbios internacionais.

Maria Amélia de Sousa Mascena Veras 

Scholarship in Research Productivity at CNPq – Level 2

Graduated in Medicine from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1983), Master in Collective Health from Universidade de São Paulo (1996), Master in Public Health [MPH] from University of California Berkeley (2001), and PhD in Epidemiology from Universidade de São Paulo (2005). Has experience in Public Health, with large experience in HIV/AIDS, Epidemiology
and surveillance, STI, research among men who have sex with men.

Students participating in the exchange program would have a chance to investigate: epidemiologic studies, mainly focusing on HIV/AIDS, and the social context of HIV / AIDS in Brazil.

Ana Luiza G. P. Navas, SLP, PhD

Experience in Language disorders, focusing on reading and writing, cognitive processes and psycholinguistics. Research interest in Reading disorders (assessment and intervention). Currently she holds the position of Associate Professor at the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP), Speech Therapy Department. She is also the coordinator of the Speech Therapy-Audiology Course at the FCMSCSP, Scientific director of the Brazilian Society of Logopedics, and member of the Child Language Committee of the International Association of Logopedics (IALP).

Department of Physiological Sciences

Hudson Sousa Buck, MSc, PhD

Graduated in Biological Sciences from Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (1993), MSc in Molecular Biology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (1996) and PhD in Molecular Biology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2000). Pos-doc at Université de Montreal (2001). Currently a Full Professor at the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo. Has experience in Pharmacology, focusing on Neuropsychopharmacology, acting on the following subjects: Bradykinin, Alzheimer’s Disease, Hypertension, Memory and Paratrigeminal Nucleus. The main research focus of this group involves the kallikrein-kinin system mediated inflammation on Alzheimer’s disease and in neurodegenerative process during the aging. Kinin effects are mediated by B1 and B2 G protein coupled receptors and their expression may be altered on experimental models of Alzheimer’s disease. This work can contribute to the better understanding of the role of these receptors on neurodegenerative disease, bringing new perspectives for therapeutic approaches for chronic neurological disease.

Students participating in the exchange program would have a chance to investigate: Paradigms related to animal behavior, mainly involving learning and memory, and membrane protein identification and quantification by autoradiography, immunohistochemistry, etc.

 

Carlos Alberto Longui   

Graduated in Medicine from Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (1981), PhD in Endocrinology from Universidade de São Paulo (1993) and post-doc in Molecular Endocrinology from the National Institute of Health (NIH) in 1998. Currently a Full Professor at Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo and coordinator of the Graduate Courses (stricto sensu). His research focus is in Pediatrics Endocrinology and Molecular Medicine.

Students participating in the exchange program would have a chance to investigate: research studies on growth, plus nuclear receptors of glucocorticoid, androgen and estrogen in human diseases.

 

Wagner Ricardo Montor  

Main research interest: molecular oncology, focusing on breast cancer. Note: currently in the process of grant writing and laboratory establishment, which should be ready in mid-2012.

Cristiane Kochi

Graduted in Medicine from the Universidade de Santo Amaro (1990), master in Pediatrics from The School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa of São Paulo (1999), PhD in Pediatrics from The School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa of São Paulo (2004), medical residence at the Hospital do Servidor Publico Municipal (1993) and specialization in Pediatrics Endocrinology from The School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa of São Paulo (1995).

Currently she is an associate professor at The School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa of São Paulo and doctor at Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo.

Students participating in the exchange program would have a chance to investigate: research studies on Maternal-Child Health, working mainly in stature and chromosome X.

 

 

Tatiana Rosado Rosenstock, PhD


T.R. Rosenstock is an Assistant Professor at Department of Physiological Sciences at Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medical Sciences (FCMSCSP) and, from 2015, T.Rosenstock is a member of the International Relations Office (Núcleo de Relações Internacionais) and President of the Internal Biosecurity Committee (Comissão Interna de Biossegurança). T.R. Rosenstock research focus has been Huntington's disease (HD), and more recently, the main goal is to investigate the relationship between transcription deregulation and mitochondrial dysfunction in different models of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Schizophrenia (SHZ). T.R. Rosenstock got, in 2001, her BSc. in Biomedical Science at Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP - Brazil), and, in 2004 and 2008, she obtained her Master and PhD titles in the same University. In 2002, she received a short-stay fellowship from Howard Hugues Medical Institution and in 2007 an exchange fellowship to develop part of her PhD work at University of Rome TorVergata (Italy). From 2008 to 2014, she was a Post-Doc fellow at Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (Portugal). During this period, she participated at PENS Summer School Metabolic Aspects of Chronic Brain Diseases (Germany) and at Laboratory Animal Science (Category C) in according to FELASA and received a short-stay fellowship to the Dept. of Biological Engineering, MIT (USA).

 

Traumatology

Osmar Pedro Arbix de Camargo

Graduated in Medicine from the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (1969) and PhD in Medicine (Surgery) from the same School (1989). Currently an Associate Professor and Vice-Director of the Medical School. Orthopedic Surgery is his area of expertise.

Students participating in the exchange program would have a chance to investigate: orthopedic surgery mainly related to the knee.

 

Surgery Department

Tércio de Campos

Graduated in Medicine from Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (1993), Master´s Degree in Surgery (2002) and PhD (2007) from the same School. Currently an Assistant Doctor at Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo and an Assistant Professor at the Medical School. Experience in surgery focusing in Gastroenterology Surgery, acting mainly in the following areas: acute pancreatitis, biliary calculi, inflammatory response and organ failure.

Students participating in the exchange program would have a chance to investigate: emergency room procedures and surgery.

João Eduardo Nunes Salles

Graduated in Medicine from the Universidade Severino Sombra (1995), specialization in Endocrinology from the Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo (2000), PhD in Medicine (Clinical Endocrinology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (2006) and medical residence from the Universidade de Taubaté (1998).
Currently he is Associate Professor at The School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa of São Paulo. His main expertise is in endocrinology.

SCHOOL OF NURSING

Lívia Keismanas de Ávila, PhD

Associate Professor at Santa Casa de São Paulo Nurse School since 2003. She graduated in Nursing at University of São Paulo in 1999 and Nurse Teaching in 2004; obtained M.Sc. in 2002 and Ph.D. in 2009, both on Public Health Nursing at University of São Paulo. Coordinator of the disciplines of Ginecology and Obtetrics, Cancer Prevention, Environmental Health, and internship of undergraduate students in woman health assistance. She supervised more than 30 graduation monographs, and has been honored seven times in graduation ceremonies. Participant of the Pro PET Saúde Scholarship Program at Santa Casa since 2009, became the head of the program in 2014. Participant of the Pró Saúde Scholarship Program at Santa Casa since 2005, in 2008 became the head of the program of the Nursing and Speech Therapy divisions. Currently is collaborative researcher and provides tutorial support for post graduate students at University of São Paulo, is associate member of the Centro de Estudos Dr. João Amorim and consultant of São Paulo Municipal Health Secretary.

Dr. Avila expertise is on Public Health Nursing, health assistance, health needs and primary attention.

 

 

Department of Pathological Sciences

 

Roberto Antonio Pinto Paes, MD, Residency in Pathology

Specialist in Pathology by Brazilian Society of Pathology since 1974. Specialist by Brazilian Society of Cytology Cytology since 1976. Fellow in the Department of Pathology of the Royal College of Surgeons (London) in the period 1974 to 1975 Masters Degree in Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo, with a Masters degree in 1980 and PhD in 1990. Associate Professor, School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo since 1973.

Pathologist of the Adolfo Lutz Institute, the Hospital Beneficence Portuguese of São Paulo and Department of Pathology, Santa Casa de São Paulo. Research interest: Lymphoma: epidemiology, NK / T cell lymphoma, Burkitt `s lymphoma, EBV related lymphomas.
