CAPES Code: 33019010012P4
CAPES Assessment Area: Collective Health
CAPES Grade: Professional Masters – Grade 5
Course recognized in accordance with MEC Ordinance No. 609, of 3/14/2019 – DOU of 3/18/2019.
The Professional Master’s Degree in Collective Health has the main objective of preparing public health professionals to use scientific research as a tool to improve their work, that is, as a resource for developing the skills and competencies required for the best performance of the public service.
The program was created seeking to establish a clear distinction between specialized professional training and the professional master’s degree. In order to account for this fundamental distinction between the two training modalities, the program’s proposal privileges disciplines and activities of an instrumental and methodological nature, avoiding disciplines exclusively focused on the transmission of technical content. Another present concern was to avoid strictly disciplinary boundaries.
The program is designed for public health professionals who perform functions of management, health surveillance, evaluation and follow-up within the scope of the state secretariat or municipal health secretariats and other organizations that work in interface with the Unified Health System.
Presential.
Course subjects and activities take place on Thursday afternoons; on Fridays (morning and afternoon) and eventually on Saturdays.
Professional Master: 24 months.
Professional Master: 60 credits (40 in disciplines; 20 in Thesis).
The selection process consists of a written test, eliminatory, and interview, with presentation of the pre-project to a panel of examiners, composed of at least two professors from the Department of Collective Health of FCMSCSP.
