Introduction: Brazil’s history is marked by the arrival of refugees at different times. A large, important and historic portion of these refugees is made up of the Jewish people, a people whose history was marked by important passages such as Anti-Semitism, World War II, and the Holocaust. Many of these Jews came to live and grew old in Brazil. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative study by sampling (convenience), where 27 Jewish refugees aged 70 years or older were interviewed. Results: Most of the group (56%) considered their health to be good; 93% have consultations and routine exams; low frequency of comorbidities (among the most common); the group was active with low prevalence of addictions and healthy habits; average resilience (52%) and low prevalence of depression (22%). Conclusion: Despite important and decisive passages such as Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust and the change of country, our interviewees not only survived, but also overcame their challenges without neglecting.
